Despite her highly trained eye and sophisticated understanding of art, Shijun has a way of using her brush to narrate a story to which we can all relate. They aren't stories that we fit into; but rather the opposite, in that our stories fit into them and make Shijun's paintings a personality that is one of a kind.

Illustration for the children's Book "Filbert and Wally, Chattahoochee Daydreams"
I am honored to have corroborated as an illustrator with Alizah Anne Kaite on her recent book "Filbert and Wally, Chattahoochee Daydreams" a wonderful children's book. A barred owl and a tree frog learn about true friendship and self-awareness while hamming it up along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Georgia. more here

"Mystic Mermaid II" has been selected as the poster -2013
My oil painting "Mystic Mermaid II" has been selected as the poster for the Theatrical production of Hans Christian Anderson story of "The Little Mermaid", an adaptation by Pam Gems and produce by the University of Fraser, Chilliwack, BC, Canada. 畫家黃詩筠應邀在愛默蕾（Emory）大學麥克米蘭法律圖書館（MacMillan Law Library ），舉辦個人畫展與「詩筠畫室」學生作品展。這次的畫展將展至8月15日。黃詩筠畢業於廣州美術學院藝術師範專業，是廣東省美術家協會會員，來美六年，參加各種繪畫競賽、美術慶祝活動與畫廊畫作展覽，並獲很多大獎。
這次將展出25幅油畫，畫中傳達寧靜致遠的東方哲學觀，有些畫則具有浪漫典雅的西方人文情調。她也在2003年開設詩筠畫室.
